Streeterville, Chicago

Corrective skincare and med spa treatments in Streeterville.

A private studio on East Ohio Street in 60611, treating the cause of a skin concern rather than the look of it. Since 2014.

Yana A., Owner and Lead Esthetician at YA Skin Studio

About the studio

Founded on the idea that skin deserves more than a surface fix

YA Skin Studio was started in 2014 by Yana A., a DMK Paramedical Therapist of the Year and a former nationwide esthetic educator. Every protocol here is built to work on the cause of a skin concern rather than the look of it.

That is why the studio stays small, and why clients across Streeterville keep the same esthetician year after year.

Streeterville treatments

What we do at the 60611 studio

Six treatments that cover most of what happens here, from corrective enzyme work to brows and waxing. If you are not sure which one fits your skin, book a consultation and we will choose it together.

What a visit looks like

You arrive, we look at your skin, we treat what we find

Every first visit starts with a proper read of your skin, not a menu. Your esthetician decides the protocol with you, then does it. Nothing is upsold from a chair.

Most clients are back on a schedule within a month, because the plan is built for a season and not for a single afternoon.

A med spa you can walk to on your lunch break

Minutes from Northwestern Memorial and the East Ohio Street garages, in a private suite rather than a salon floor.

Frequently Asked Questions

What happens at your first visit to our Streeterville studio?

Your first visit begins with a skin analysis rather than a treatment menu. Your esthetician looks at hydration, barrier condition, pigment, congestion and sensitivity, then talks you through what she has found and what she would like to do about it.

From there you agree on a protocol together. If your skin is not ready for the treatment you booked, we will say so and adjust, at no extra cost. Most first appointments run about an hour.

Come with clean skin if you can, though makeup is not a problem. We remove it either way.

A facial suits maintenance, hydration, congestion and a general reset. It is the right starting point if you have not had professional treatment recently, or if your skin is reactive.

A chemical peel is the better answer for pigmentation, sun damage, dullness and acne marks. We use Environ Cool Peel and VI Peel and choose between them based on your skin type and your downtime tolerance.

Microneedling is structural. It suits acne scarring, enlarged pores and fine lines, and it works as a course rather than a single session. If you are unsure, book a consultation and let us choose. It is the cheapest way to avoid booking the wrong thing twice.

DMK is a paramedical system built around transfer messenger enzymes. Rather than stripping or resurfacing skin from the outside, enzyme therapy works with the skin’s own processes to restore circulation, clear congestion and rebuild function over a course of treatments.

Yana A. holds DMK Paramedical Therapist of the Year, the highest recognition in corrective skincare, and the studio has run DMK protocols since it opened. Home prescriptives are dispensed by consultation only, in line with DMK policy. The DMK professional line is available to clients.

Yes, both. Threading covers brow, lip, chin, sideburn and full face. Waxing covers face and body using hypoallergenic Italian wax, including Brazilian.

Brow lamination is also available, which restructures the brow hair for a fuller, brushed up shape lasting roughly six to eight weeks. Any of these can be added to a facial in the same visit.

The studio is at 230 E Ohio Street, Suite 112, between Fairbanks and St Clair, one block east of Michigan Avenue in 60611.

There is paid garage parking on Ohio Street and on Grand Avenue within a block. The Grand stop on the Red Line is a six minute walk, and the 66 Chicago and 29 State buses both stop within two blocks. If you are coming from Northwestern Memorial or a Magnificent Mile hotel, walking is faster than driving.

Appointments can be changed or cancelled up to 24 hours ahead without charge (full policy). Inside 24 hours a fee applies.

Gift cards can be bought online and used against any service or product. Professional home care lines are available in the shop, and DMK home prescriptives are dispensed by consultation.
